Stillness Time: 2100-2300 Hours

Inexhaustible cultivation becomes Laziness.

No trace of delusion arose in mind cultivation.

Always be carefree in the light of no form.

Surpass the Shakya-Muni, Surpass the Patriarches.

Any dust exists in mind will result obstruction.Suddenly becoming worry-free and carefree like nothing can be bothered.

Here is his own librated Gem which is widely appreciated by everybody.

勇猛精进成懈怠。

不起纤豪修学心。

无相光中常自在。

超释迦,越祖代。

心有微尘还窒阂。

廓然无事顿清闲。

After Dark Time: 1900-2100 hours

The wild zen practitioner is cultivating to illuminate the dark doom.

When psychic power of inmost mind is connected to immeasurable time

There is no difference ever since hundreds of thousands of millions of ages from today.

Attempting to negotiate it with but responded with chirps and whirrs.

It turns the mind in absolute darkness.

No matter day or night, the mind rays shone the existence and non-existence.

This ignorant idiot is now called a Paramita.

十二时颂黄昏戌

狂子兴功投暗室。

假使心通无量时。

历劫何曾异今日。

拟商量,却啾唧。

转使心头黑如漆。

Sunset Time: 1700-1900 Hours

Sensual world of delusion lasts not for long.

A cuisine of Zen pleasure is not intended to consume.

Not even eager to drink the wine of ignorance.

Nothing to be disposed, no object is to guard.

A carefree and unfettered life which has never been experienced before.

Even though someone learns a lot and   
is knowledgeable about historical and modern issues.

He is still an ignorant idiot who walks out of the right path.

虚幻声音终不久。

禅悦珍羞尚不餮。

谁能更饮无明酒。

没可抛,无物守。

To practice shall firstly not dislike being poverty.

All phenomena are independent arising.

Since of formless, why need to implement any form of truth.

Attempting to purify is totally wasting of energy.

Do not recognize ignorance as your close neighborhood.

Talking with no desire, has no permanent residence.

Temporary just call me a Monk.

学道先须不厌贫。

有相本来权积聚。

Early Afternoon 1300-1500 Hours

The reality has never been supplemented on top of your mind.

It is non-relevance to whatever other people’s sayings.

Do not practice for pleasing yourself.

Go wherever you want with no restriction.

Get among the people but in different worldly life.

Make good use of it without getting away from sensual functions..

The gem has never been temporary disposed.

心地何曾安了义。

他家文字没亲疏。

莫起工夫求的意。

There is a priceless Gem in the body of a composite of 4 elements,   

which could not resist to relinquish sunny ray and beautiful flowers of emptiness.    

Attempting to practice has turned into hardship.Since it is never under delusion, No enlightenment is required.

No matter how many times have you watched sun dawn till sun set,

A body of no form is within your formed body.

There is no salvation path on the pathway of illusion.

四大身中无价宝。

阳焰空华不肯抛。

作意修行转辛苦。

Morning Time: 0900-1100 Hours

The un-enlightened person is hard to be trained.

He falsely feels himself being fully aware of the patriarch’s teachings.      

Do not supplement any such teachings on top of your mind.    Stay profound with no literal text.   

If you turn backward to the previous state of mind, it is still false.   In this case, just temporarily stay awareness of it and do not chase further.  

Then you will never be interfered by the evil for hundreds of
thousands of millions ages.

Breakfast Time: 0700-0900 hours

Ignorance is the body of Sakya-muni.

Having not realized while sitting and laying-down that are the pathway of practice.

Just be busy for all those hardship, instead.     

Addicting to the sounds and visual subjects,
trying to define the relationship with it.       

You then become another in-pure person.If set your mind toward the Buddha’s pathway,     

One should explore in the emptiness of space, and emerged from delusion.

Sun Dawn0500-0700 Hour

Work on it without applying any skill.  

Even the duality of existence or non-existence is shined by the Buddha ray.  

Any attempt of mind will be interfered by the evil.  Any endeavor will cause further false.  

Thus day and night is disturbed by self and others.  Just let it be and follow it without any arrangement.

用处不须生善巧。 纵使神光照有无。

起意便遭魔事挠。

若施功,终不了。

Prior to dawn– 0300-0500 Hours

From the wild waves of inner mind I saw a body of practitioner,   

Who has struggled with hardshipfor hundreds of thousands of millions of ages.Unbelievably a miracle gem is held there all the time.

Once grasp it as an object, you will get lost.

It is dust of delusion if you observe it with any trace.

Do not focus on the past memory, there is no feature can be revealed.

It will be untrue to your Liberation if you turn outward seeking for a knowledgeable
advise.

Monk Zi-Gong was an enlightened person in Chinese Liang Dynasty.
He made these verses to encourage other young monks in their
practice of Zen meditation.


There are 12 verses made for 24 hours a day around the clock. Each
verse describes the mind state of a practitioner in deep concentration
in that particular 2 hours of the day.

十二时颂平旦寅。
梁代高僧誌公和尚


狂机内有道人身。

穷苦已经无量劫。

不信常擎如意珍。

若捉物,入迷津。

但有纤毫即是尘。

不住旧时无相貌。

外求知识也非真。
